NACHBARINNEN | Frauen, Gesichter, Geschichten

Sareh Oveysi ist eine visuelle Künstlerin, Fotografin, Art Direktorin und Filmemacherin. Ihr Werk konzentriert sich auf Frauenrechte, Menschenrechte, persönliche Freiheit und die Unterstützung der LGBTQ+-Community. Im Juli 2024 ist sie aus dem Iran geflüchtet.

NACHBARINNEN ist eine Porträtserie von Frauen aus der direkten Nachbarschaft der Fotografin: dem Exile Media Hub Brandenburg im kleinen Dorf Schmerwitz. Die ausdrucksstarken Bilder zeigen unverfälscht und ehrlich Frauen von nebenan, die sich auf eine offenherzige Begegnung mit der Künstlerin eingelassen haben.

Jedes Porträt in NACHBARINNEN erzählt eine Geschichte – von Liebe, vom Leben auf dem Land, von der Wende, von Verlust, Hoffnung und von der Kraft, im Alter neu anzufangen.

NACHBARINNEN wurde erstmalig Anfang 2025 in Bad Belzig präsentiert. Jetzt lädt das Autonome Frauenzentrum Potsdam in der Landeshauptstadt zum Perspektivwechsel ein – um den Blick auf Frauen zu lenken, die von der Gesellschaft oft unsichtbar gemacht werden.

Öffnungszeiten: Freitag, Samstag, Sonntag je 14h-18h. Kurzfristige Änderungen werden hier veröffentlicht.

Der Eintritt zur Ausstellung ist frei, Spenden sind nach Möglichkeit willkommen.

NEIGHBOURS | Women, faces, stories

Sareh Oveysi is a visual artist, photographer, art director, and filmmaker. Her work focuses on women’s rights, human rights, personal freedom, and supporting the LGBTQ+ community. She fled Iran in July 2024.

NEIGHBOURS is a series of portraits of women from the photographer’s immediate neighborhood: the Exile Media Hub Brandenburg in the small village of Schmerwitz. In a raw and honest way, the expressive images show women from next door who engaged in an open-hearted encounter with the artist.

Each portrait in NEIGHBOURS tells a story—of love, of life in the countryside, of the German reunification, of loss, hope, and the strength to start over in old age.

NEIGHBOURS was first presented in Bad Belzig in early 2025. Now the Autonomous Women’s Center Potsdam invites visitors in the state capital to change their perspective —to focus their attention on women who are often made invisible by society.

Opening hours: friday, saturday, sunday, each 14h-18h. Changes will be published here.

The enterance to the exhibition is free, donations are welcome.
