Voller Vorfreude, eine Ausstellung der beeindruckenden Künstlerin Sareh Oveysi mit berührenden Lebensgeschichten von Frauen zeigen zu dürfen, lädt das Autonome Frauenzentrum Potsdam herzlich zur Vernissage von NACHBARINNEN ein. Dabei gibt es auch die Möglichkeit, mit der Künstlerin ins Gespräch zu kommen.

Sareh Oveysi ist eine visuelle Künstlerin, Fotografin, Art Direktorin und Filmemacherin. Ihr Werk konzentriert sich auf Frauenrechte, Menschenrechte, persönliche Freiheit und die Unterstützung der LGBTQ+-Community. Im Juli 2024 ist sie aus dem Iran geflüchtet.

NACHBARINNEN ist eine Porträtserie von Frauen aus der direkten Nachbarschaft der Fotografin: dem Exile Media Hub Brandenburg im kleinen Dorf Schmerwitz. Die ausdrucksstarken Bilder zeigen unverfälscht und ehrlich Frauen von nebenan, die sich auf eine offenherzige Begegnung mit der Künstlerin eingelassen haben.

Jedes Porträt in NACHBARINNEN erzählt eine Geschichte – von Liebe, vom Leben auf dem Land, von der Wende, von Verlust, Hoffnung und von der Kraft, im Alter neu anzufangen.

NACHBARINNEN wurde erstmalig Anfang 2025 in Bad Belzig präsentiert. Mit dem Ausstellungsort im Autonomen Frauenzentrum Potsdam in der Landeshauptstadt wird zum Perspektivwechsel angeregt – um den Blick auf Frauen zu lenken, die von der Gesellschaft oft unsichtbar gemacht werden.

Der Abend wird musikalisch begleitet von Duos Duet, die mit Violine und Cello die Klänge der Straßen Teherans ertönen lassen.

Die Ausstellung wird vom 7. November 2025 bis zum 11. Januar 2026 zu sehen sein.

Full of anticipation to present an exhibition by the impressive artist Sareh Oveysi featuring touching life stories of women, the Autonomous Women’s Center Potsdam cordially invites you to the opening of NEIGHBORS. There will also be an opportunity to talk with the artist.

Sareh Oveysi is a visual artist, photographer, art director, and filmmaker. Her work focuses on women’s rights, human rights, personal freedom, and supporting the LGBTQ+ community. She fled Iran in July 2024.

NEIGHBORS is a series of portraits of women from the photographer’s immediate neighborhood: the Exile Media Hub Brandenburg in the small village of Schmerwitz. The expressive images show authentic and honest women from next door who have engaged in a candid encounter with the artist.

Each portrait in NEIGHBORS tells a story—of love, of life in the countryside, of the German reunification, of loss, hope, and the strength to start over in old age.

NEIGHBORSwas first presented in Bad Belzig in early 2025. The exhibition venue at the Autonomous Women’s Center Potsdam in the state capital encourages a change of perspective – to draw attention to women who are often made invisible by society.

The evening will be accompanied by music from Duos Duet, who will bring the sounds of the streets of Tehran to life with their violin and cello.

The exhibition will be open from November 7, 2025, to January 11, 2026.

Opening hours: Friday/Saturday/Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
